Comments about AquaStar Natural Gas Tankless Water Heater:
Unit performs wonderfully. It heats water to proper temp with 3 apppliances going at the same time. BE SURE TO USE THE BOSCH Exhaust kit -- We tried "saving some money" by making our own exhaust venting -- big mistake -- the unit did not provide consistent temp. Once we changed to the Bosch exhaust kit -- everything worked perfectly. Great system and would highly recommend !!

Comments about AquaStar Natural Gas Tankless Water Heater:
This is my second Aqua Star. I installed one in a rental home I own. My tenants are so please with it I decided to get one for myself. I installed a smaller Bosch tankless some years ago and it is still going strong! (I purchased both Aqua Stars at CPO)

Comments about AquaStar Natural Gas Tankless Water Heater:
Bought the 2700ES-NG in August 2010. Installed the exhaust, air-intake and electric outlet myself. A bit tricky but you have to follow the instructions carefully and comply with the specifications. I left the plumbing (gas and water) to a licensed plumber. Again you have to comply with the instructions (waterpressure needs to be over 30 lbs; water supply 3/4 inch; gas requirements 200,000 BTUs an hour.If you get all this right it will work out of the box without any problems.Pros: Less space requirement, energy efficient, it didn't take any longer to get hot water as it did with the tank-waterheater. I like it.Cons: Expensive; Waterheater [$] plus material required for installation $800.00; installer needs to know what he is doing; Labor cost $1,000.00 and I did the mounting, exhaust, air-intake and electric myself. You are not going to replace a broken tank-hot-water heater with this one during an emergency. It takes planning and time to replace. If you are handy, plan for it and can afford it I would recommend.

NOT for cold climate areas
Comments about AquaStar Natural Gas Tankless Water Heater:
When the water heater actually works it is great. Loved it when it worked, but it is not a good product in colder climates. We bought this product to suit our needs for our family size. Worked great for the two weeks that it was installed before it got cold. When it got cold it wasnt the cold that froze the unit we couldnt keep it thawed due to the vents, the air flow that came in was what was freezing our unit. Due to the warranty not covering the unit in event of freezing we have to purchase a new water heater. We attempted to find the parts to fix this product ourselves and CAN NOT find any of the parts, CAN NOT even find the fuses for the unit. After all the frustration and irritation we found a special hood for this product for climates under 32 degrees. Should have had a suggestion regarding hood on package.

Outstanding product & service
Comments about AquaStar Natural Gas Tankless Water Heater:
Every time I walk past the thing in my basement I love the silence of it. It makes me wonder why these haven't been made mandatory equipment. The thought of how much money I've wasted in all the years I kept a 50 gallon tank of water hot 24/7 boggles my mind. [...] Only big surprise was the air supply and exhaust. The unit requires a 3-inch pipe to pull fresh air in (which can be PVC) and exhaust needs to be stainless steel. Very expensive and you need a condensate drip line with a trap and a place to drain it. Had I known before hand, I'd have bought the kit they offer as an accessory. My local plumbing supply should have offered dinner and candlelight with the bill they hit me with. But otherwise, an excellent move. There is definitely an adjustment, takes a little more time to get hot water out of the tap but just a little and it does make you think hard about whether or not you really need to turn on the hot faucet for tasks. One trick I learned was to set the temperature to be as hot as I like a hot shower, that way I only turn on the hot water and don't have to mix in cold whenever I'm using it.

this 2700ES NG is the best whole house investment we have ever made...plenty of hot water..startup cost was a bear...our gas supply was too small...otherwise we have plenty of hot water...a little getting used to because our ground water is really cold so the hot takes longer to arrive but well worth the wait...I am a painter to I use a lot of hot water cleaning brushes and rollers...an hour and a half later I was done and never ran out of hot water...great product...I have friends that have under the sink models and they all agree....nothing better.....
